Ramblings from Zambia....

This morning we left Kitwe early and drove to Ndola (about an hour away).  We visited a possible site where the church may build an Early Childhood Centre (very exciting)!  Then we headed to Lusaka.  The road to Lusaka is a 2 lane road and due to the copper mines and other industries in the copperbelt is always full of heavily ladened trucks!  In fact we counted over 100 passing us one way in an hour of the journey and the journey was almost 7 hours!  There are 4 toll gates from Lusaka to Kitwe so we reckon the Government are making a large amount of money daily which is supposed to be for maintaining the roads!

The road to kitwe is shocking.  It is badly rutted and so over taking becomes really dangerous!  A few times today we saw truck drivers almost lose control because of the state of the road!  So the question is...what on earth are they using the money from the tolls for???

I must say I am thankful to be home safely!
