Paul and Shane at the polling station

I returned to this building for my second bout as a 'poll clerk' working with the Presiding Officer to allow local residents to vote. This wasn't in my local district but in a nearby town.

We arrived at 0630 and left at 2215 without a break other than a few moments spent in the fresh air when there were no electors waiting. This was taken at 1015 as the light darkened and hail the size of peas fell for a few minutes. You can just make out some large hailstones falling and lying on the ground.

I hadn't met Paul or Shane before but we had a fun time when we could and took it in turns to do the various necessary jobs to fulfil the legal requirements of an election polling station.
