Small Or Far Away

Pretty sure this is the not quite fully-fledged pigeon that became waterlogged on the office roof last week, tried to fly and plummeted straight down into a shrub. I happened to walk past as it was flapping wildly and alerted G the wildlife rescuer. She caught it, checked it for injuries (none), put it in a box under the aircon and freed it when it had rested and dried out. Apparently it was old enough to fly but young enough still to be hanging around its parents and the nest.

Pigeons are an introduced species so while vets will treat native birds for free, injured pigeons are euthanised. So G, who wants every bird to have a chance, cares for them herself.

Thanks for hosting freespiral.
