Live it loud!

Winter returns (with a vengeance!)

Woke this morning with a sprinkle of snow blowing about in the freezing cold wind. A few miles up the road conditions were much worse - I could feel ice underneath the slightly deeper snow. Being 4x4 it takes poor conditions to upset my car.

So, I did the obvious - I turned off the main road down one of the lanes that was well covered in snow looking for a blip. The sun was shining brightly and blue sky was visible! This was taken just 4 miles from home. Then off to work.

I returned to the main road (the delightfully named Coal Pits Lane) to continue towards the A5 at Lutterworth - conditions were deteriorating rapidly. Traffic was down to a 25 mph crawl. The A5 northbound was stationary. Fortunately I was going south.

The A5 turns into dual carriageway for a short stretch. A few weeks ago, just over the brow of a slight hill here, water collected in a dip. Cars were in a distressed state facing all directions on that day. Today, it was sheet ice with snow blowing off the fields. As I expected two cars had recently and rapidly arrived at the scenery next to the road, one 45 degrees in the ditch. Despite this, Mt T. Watt, driving his specially equipped Mondeo (that is the additional features that allow the vehicle to completely defy the laws of physics), went steaming past us at over 70 mph. I opened the window to wave him to slow down which he duly disregarded.

Just over the next brow only 200 yards ahead and out of sight, there were three more cars in increasing states of destruction all over the central reservation and lane 2. The, Mr T. Watt decided then it might be best to slow down. It appeared that no-one was injured in either crash.

It seems the whole area was covered in accidents all over a very short period of time.
Of course, when they have an accident, it won't in any way be Mr. T. Watt's fault. No, couldn't be. His car can defy physics, gravity, Newtons laws of motion on every occasion, until......lights out!
