Irish Yew Tree

This is the famous Irish Yew, (Taxus baccata L. Fastigiata) the original mother plant of countless thousands of Irish Yews found across the world. A previously unknown species, it was discovered here (Florencecourt?) in 1767 by George Willis,  a tenant of the first Earl of Enniskillen.
