Remembering Gloster Aircraft Company

These 'Speakers' / 'Cones' are made from Aliminium and are public art which has been installed at Whittle Square, near the Brockworth TESCO.
Each has a push button which activates a series of sound clips. They include recordings of former GAC employees talking about the factory and the unmistakable sound of a Hurricane's Merlin engine.
Although the Hurricane was not a Gloster designed aircraft they were built in very large quantities at the Brockworth factory.

The Jet Age Museum, which is keeping alive the heritage and history of the Gloster Aircraft Company, is pushing ahead with it's new museum building and you can keep track at their website and facebook.
