Another early outing. I left home at 6.20 and was back before 8 o’clock.

For a change I went up Loughrigg (the south east corner) to the point where Windermere comes into view with the River Rothay flowing in. Was overtaken by a runner and saw no-one else until I was back on the road. Heard another cuckoo.

There were lots of trees with white blossom which I thought at first were hawthorn, but the shape of some was different. A closer look showed they’re Rowan (aka Mountain Ash). I’ve added an extra.
