Lilac

D asked me to put some lilac in a vase (we have no shortage of them either). The smell is quite pleasant.

It has been an incredibly quiet day. I walked up to the gate to see if I could catch whoever had fruitlessly called round. I'm afraid I must have been too deeply in the work zone with someone's article that I am editing. On the way back, I all I noticed was the bird song and our waist high grass in the orchard. It's some kind of public holiday today apparently.

D is making sour dough bread again. We tried folding the rather sticky dough and maybe it was developing some elasticity.
