Unexpected

I'm currently reading On The Map, about the history of maps. It's very interesting, despite some irritating typos, and I've learnt lots of things about early maps and influential people. It's almost finished now, but this chapter (the one and only I'm allowed to red before lights out tonight) is about game maps - Skyrim, Grand Theft Auto, Risk, Monopoly, which was an unexpected chapter.

It doesn't mention some categories of maps, but they're more specific to particular regions, where his focus is largely on the bigger picture (if you'll excuse the pun). Still, as an overview it's reasonable and draws on some creative connections.
