Peace Doves

Saturday 12th June 2021

What a day! First thing this morning a small group of us set off on a coach (yes, together but wearing masks and taking precautions) to go to Liverpool Cathedral. Our Curate was being ordained Priest today. A much smaller service than usual but not as small as the ordination service last year. At least this time each candidate could have 42 guests. It was a lovely service.

The Cathedral is also host to the Peace Dove installation at present (photo). It was supposed to be last year but got postponed. In preparation last year, visitors to the cathedral were asked to write a prayer on a dove. I wrote on one of them.  It was lovely to be able to see the installation at last.

After the service it was straight back to the parish, arriving just one hour before we had a wedding in church, our first for this year. It was a lovely celebration.

What an amazing day. Now we just need to prepare for another special celebration tomorrow.
