Squirrel

Monday
It was a beautiful day today, warm comfortable temperatures, low humidity, and I spent much of it sitting outside on the patio, finishing my book for Book Club this evening, and watching the birds and the squirrel clean-up crew under the feeders! Our book this month was Hamnet by Irish-born Maggie OFarrell, which was very well received by our group. It is obviously doing the rounds of Book Clubs at present - I discovered a day or so ago the Book Club I attended in France when we were there (from 2013 to early 2017) was also reading it this month! The book is a fictional look at the death of Shakespeare’s son Hamnet at age 11, it is supposed from the bubonic plague, and of Shakespeare’s play Hamlet (the two names being interchangeable at the time), which was presented four years later. It is an excellent read, and a moving look at marriage, loss and grief.
