Light oak

I decided to go with a light oak option as if I later change my mind it's easier to lightly sand back and apply a darker colour than to go the other way.

The other colour that appealed was walnut but it's hard to come back from that if you later regret it.  

So far I really am liking my choice but won't know for certain until I apply that first coat of polyurethane varnish and see the end result.  I really hope I have chosen well.  But i'll know soon enough.

I'm going to leave this now for 24 hours and will apply varnish tomorrow.
