Return to Logan Brae apple orchard.

After visiting at the weekend (here) and being daunted by the 20min queues of tourists lining up for their hot apple and cinnamon drinks and their hot apple pies, we were delighted to learn that they now open Fridays from 10am to 1pm for locals simply wanting to buy a case of very fresh apples.

I had noticed this wonderful antediluvian apple peeling and coring machine before, with its iron frame and mechanical drive chains, and assumed it was just a museum piece. However it was in full flight this morning with a very nimble fingered young lady feeding and removing up to four apples in sequence from the whirling shafts feeding the apples into the peeling and coring knives. Not too much WHS going on here and you wouldn't want to lose concentration!

The first extra is just one of the many fabulous old pieces of machinery on the site, and the second extra is for WW - come home Wandering Wombat, the Shipley is missing you ;-)
