A riveting day, as in pop-riveting, to fix a bracket back on to a pannier. Had to fix a foot pump too.

Both repairs being a diversion from the intended repair, which had been to replace the bottom bracket bearing in my ancient mountain bike. That was not to be, as the old one had problems. First side removed was a struggle, as it was badly rusted up, but it did eventually come out. Alas the chainwheel side had seized and when it did eventually move it just stripped the thread. That could be repaired, but the bike's ancient, and I have to admit, just not worth the bother.

Plan B for tomorrow - need to fix the hub-gear bike, otherwise it'll be catch the bus to work on Monday. That'll mean fitting a new rear wheel, swapping tube and tyres, plus those removed panniers, then an overhaul of all the brakes which have seized up since their last use, about ten months ago.
