What are these?

I went to a wonderful talk today by one of my favourite horticulturalists, Chris Beardshaw. He talked for 2 hours and was absolutely brilliant.
Last year he won a gold medal at Chelsea for Furzey Gardens. The talk was about the history of the garden going back to the Dalrymple brothers (from Scotland) nearly 90 years ago. The brothers bought the land in the New Forest and set about making a garden of it. They sourced a lot of plants from plant hunters who at the time only sourced plants for Kew and the Edinburgh botanic gardens and yet Furzey is relatively unknown. It had fallen into disrepair and was bought more recently and turned into a school for those with learning disabilities. Chris got involved when they wanted to enter Chelsea with a garden which they produced with the help of people with learning disabilities who attend Furzey. There is some great work going on there and I for one will be putting it on my list of gardens to visit in the near future..

The only picture I managed to take of Chris was blurred.. :( so instead you have a picture of..Stamps for Clay pots in a pottery. They are used to mark the style of pot on each base. I liked the look of them hanging there and wonder if the one that is missing was in use today or lost! (or perhaps they no longer make that style)
