Ancient recipe from the Good Hosekeeping Cookery Book. A fairly heft tome, that I and my siblings grew up with all manner of recipes from. No problem with copyright here, as it's stated as being from 1944, so will have long since expired. First publication wasn't until after the war, in 1948, and the version I have (thanks Mum!) is the 1955 reprint.

Plenty blackcurrants this year. There may soon be jam... and sticky purple stains everywhere.
