The Iron Duke

It makes a change to see a gull on the Duke of Wellington's head and not the traditional traffic cone, as seen when we drove past earlier today.

Note that the reference to 'iron' is for his 'uncompromising style and character', not the material from which the statue is made, which is bronze.

Just spent a fascinating session with Edinburgh U3A Science group, hearing all about the Edinburgh Genome foundry, who, with the help of three robots, manufacture genomic material. Now going to unfry my brain and watch Vera.
