Happy St. Patricks Day

On a day when everybody is Irish...we went out to a local parade.

I always like to go to this one because they bring in an elephant named Judy...escorted by her handler Mr. Bones. That pachyderm is one huge animal. But...new this year were 2 camels. I got scolded by their heavily tattoed handler for getting too close to the humped ones before the parade began.

Wild animals kinda scare me. What if Judy the elephant resorted to her wild roots, and decided to stampede the festive crowd? What if she doesn't like the color green?

I was ready with my inner Tarzan. He used to stop the elephant stampede by shouting..."Om-gah-wa! Om-gah-wa!" The crowd looked a little puzzled by my practicing, but you just never know when you might have to use it. Or...maybe it was the loin-cloth I was wearing.

A little 5 year old girl was wedged between Lisa and I, and another older couple. The other lady kept cutting the little girl off to get the thrown candy and the thrown plastic necklaces. Made us want to slap her.

We went to a "wild" church service, and an up-scale craft show before the parade. Talented people are everywhere. Wish I could have taken pictures to share...but just like the camel handlers...people frown on you taking pictures of their "stuff."

One more thought. How come bagpipe music gives me the chills...the chills in a good way? So inspiring. So moving.

Made me want to swap out the loin-cloth for a kilt.
