Drama Queen?

A double gym session for JR today. I actually went on the bike while watching the end of the women’s Olympic bike race. Well done that 30 year old Austrian winner who cycled at top speed for nearly four hours. I can do it for 20 seconds!! I also watched the highlights of the Lions v SA match on Ch4 catchup. Not very satisfactory, as it’s edited down to about about half an hour.

Archie went out for a walk with Becky and Daniel who had some news - they’re selling up and moving to Newcastle, where they will be able to afford a two bedroom flat, or maybe a house with a garden. Archie (we) will miss them - they’ve been coming on Sundays for many years.

Then in the afternoon, he went out with Beatrice, lucky boy. The Hermitage is of course ideal on hot days. We took advantage of him being away, and went down to visit wee Dougal. What a dear wee thing he is - so full of mischief, still hurling himself at the sofa, to no avail. Christine’s nephew came with his two dogs (Extra). One dog ignores Dougal’s shenanigans, but Quine, the wee one, is not so laid back. She puts up with him for a wee while, then snaps at him. Nobody was looking, but suddenly there was a deep growl, a loud high yelp, and wee Dougal ran to his mum, where he howled and howled and howled. I don’t think she even touched him. Mind you, he had done the same ‘drama queen’ wailing at the vet’s when he got his inoculation. They heard him away in the waiting room.

It’s very hard to get a decent shot of him with all that black hair (he has about five white hairs on his chest) but it’s important to get at least one eye showing highlights.

Back home, and Beatrice came in for a cold drink when she came back. She’d had a bit of a drama last night at her flat, with someone hanging around outside near her window.

I was delighted to discover this afternoon, that Eurosport have about nine channels devoted to the Olympics. I watched some badminton - my game of choice in my younger days.

Two of our long term residents have spent two whole days in the back garden, in hot sunshine, planting new plants. The shed has also been repaired and painted. We love our back garden. And our front garden.
