The Calm Before The Storm

I left work thinking "Huh, I thought they said there would be snow and wind this evening" and headed for the M8 oblivious to the fact that I was about to have one of the scariest driving experiences of my life!

The world turned white (earth and sky) just after the Motherwell turn off and I ended up in a long convoy of cars travelling at 30mph in slip-slidey slushy snow all the way home. The ridiculous amount of roadworks didn't help (no hard shoulder back up), nor did the huge car transporter lorry that went past us at 60mph with no care for those smaller than him left floundering in his slipstream.
