Sally Mair - Loving life

Atten... Shun!

Good to go - nice to see the bins neatly lined up at attention and ready to go.
What a day today has been, heavy rain all morning and into the afternoon. Parts of Edinburgh flooded but it was not so bad as last month I don't think. Ali had to divert a bit when she was driving out by the Gyle.
She came to visit us this afternoon and we went out trying to source the perfect nursing chair (unsuccessfully), during a brief dry spell. She knows what she wants, we just have to find it, preferably for a good price.
I picked up Eilidh and Isobel from holiday club and nursery at teatime. Isobel tells me she has only three more days left before she leaves nursery for good. Her best friend, A, has her last day tomorrow, they've been together since they first started at around 9 months old. A is moving to France, her mum is French and so she will start school there. Isobel tells us it is not forever, though, just for 100 years! Kathryn has bought both of the girls little friendship bracelets with silver hearts on them. The hearts have both of the girls names engraved on them, one name on each side. What a lovely memento for them of their first friendships.
Back home we had some more of the very well priced and quite delicious smoked salmon which I bought from the Eyemouth fishmonger when I was in West Linton on Saturday.
Only Connect and University Challenge this evening, I was quite successful at the former but the questions on UC seemed extremely hard. I managed a few but generally felt sorry for the contestants as some were very specialist. I aced the embroidery stitches round though, 25 points, just like that!!
Keep safe everybody, freedom day is here, how ridiculous! One of my son in laws had his 2nd jag today, just one more to have a jag this week and then all of my eligible people will have had their double vaccine. Hooray!
