Enchanted Forest

Wednesday
"This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

Enchanted Forest is the name of the early Spring display at Krohn Conservatory in Eden Park. It has been running since February and will continue until next month when it will be replaced by the Butterfly show. I went down to see the display this morning with my friend Ellen. The show room was designed as a rolling spring woodland, featuring early blooming hyacinths, tulips, violas and daffodils. The landscape was complemented by blooming trees and shrubs and these charming little elf and fairy houses. After we had seen the Spring display we went on to see the other areas - the tropical forest plants, the orchid room and the desert plants. Such a wonderful variety of plants and a beautiful display of color - such a treat for the senses after a long colorless southern Ohio winter. From the Conservatory, we went on to the Art museum which is also located in Eden Park. After looking around for about an hour or so, we were getting hungry, so we went for lunch in their cafe, then continued our tour. A great day spent in good company enjoying beauty in varying forms. The sun shone most of the day, though the clouds were rolling in by the time we left. Tonight we are supposed to drop to a very chilly 17F (-8C) - and I thought this was supposed to be the first day of Spring!
