Spring, at Last

After all the snow and cold we've had lately, it's nice to see the white, purple and yellow crocuses starting to blossom. Still some dark snow clouds, but... also some sunshine!

The medieval building used to be the City* gate in the wall surrounding the city of Haarlem. It's called the Amsterdam Gate and in Amsterdam they have the Haarlem gate at the end of the road connecting the cities. In the middle of the 18 km long road is a little town called 'Halfway' ;-)

Haarlem was already founded in the 10th century, but received the right to call itself city in 1245.
