Hymns & Pimm's

No 1 – Pimm's No 1, that is.  There used to be seven different types of Pimm's, each based on a different spirit.  I remember being able to order at least three of them in a pub in Somerset when out from school in around 1972.

But this was a joyful occasion, singing hymns of our choice and drinking Pimm's in a group.  I think that it was the first occasion and it went very well, particularly since the weather was kind (organised by the vicar, he said).

And the vicar is a character, having been around a bit in several different parts of the world before settling down as an Anglican priest.  He and I manned the barbeques to have burgers and hot dogs (normal and veggie) ready for the singers when they had exhausted all their favourite hymns.
