SAD NEWS

I am not a fan of EUCALYPTUS TREES, but this has lovely round leaves & it
creates shade in a very sunny spot.  Such an interesting shape, too.

I have sad news about the BEAR who has been visiting our neighborhood.
There are conflicting reports, but it seems it has been hit by a car, then lumbered off into a ravine.  There are reports the folks from Fish & Games
intent to find it & put it down.

So sad.  Folks in our neighborhood  begged Fish & Game to relocate the young BEAR to the remote Los Padres National Forest, but they
declined.  I had hoped the bear would eventually head that way on its own & find safely.

My neighbors embraced the idea that this wonderful wild animal
would occasional visit our gardens in the wee hours of the night, having a snack on fruit trees & vegetables.   We decided to be careful, but enjoy
having this wild visitor in the area.  Our neighborhood is large, spread out & surrounded by mountains & open space.  We have coyotes, bobcats &
other wild animals visit, so allowing a BEAR is not a stretch.  This is a cautionary tale.

The only trace is a paw print on my neighbor's table.  She shared the photo with us, & I have saved it.
