One step forward

A significant afternoon for Harry and Esra when at 1.30 we took them to the Didim vet for the rabies blood test that is required three months before they can travel to the UK. Paperwork and considerable expense was involved, as well as a procedure that Harry clearly found uncomfortable although Esra took it in her stride. Also required was the presence of an official from the Ministry of Agriculture who witnessed all and took all the paperwork away to process.  We now wait for the certificate to prove a negative result.  I didn't realize until quite recently just how long this whole process takes, meaning that the beginning of December is the earliest that Harry and I can go home - always assuming Turkey is off the 'red list by then and that I want to stay long term in Essex.

Back home we realized none of us had eaten anything all day, so Graham, Kat and I went to Garden restaurant around 17.30 for a much needed early drink and dinner with, before we left, the usual, gorgeous, Akbuk sunset across the Aegean, the setting sun casting long shadows.

Thank you for your comments and rewards for yesterday's 'glow in the dark' photo :). Much appreciated.
