Should have done it in January!

Towards the end of March is not a good time to start trimming an overgrown ivy bush along the fence.
We usually see the blackbirds dipping in and out of the hedges in our garden so we know where the nests are but we hadn't spotted this nest being built.
I sincerely hope I have not disturbed it too much and they return to finish laying the rest of their clutch.
I put some of the cut ivy branches back over the top of the nest, hoping to discourage the magpies from spotting it.
