Colour in the hedgerows

All our snow has gone today and we had bright blue skies. It was bitterly cold and blowing an absolutely hoolie when I went out this afternoon down the lane. I needed the cobwebs blown away though as I have spent much of the day writing reports. All done now, finally!

Twigs and branches seem to have featured this weekend because there are very definite signs of things starting to emerge. And this bright yellow lichen was the most colourful thing in the hedgerows apart from the various items thrown out of cars, including a metal beer keg - empty, presumably, not that I tested that theory.

A four day week ahead - but a busy one with various 'events'. Fingers crossed that it goes quickly and perhaps gets a bit warmer in the process.
