Industry

Curiously for an industrialised nation we are generally very wary about being anywhere near it. I grew up in a heavily industrialised town. It wasn't a bad place to grow up; there was employment and the rates paid gave the council cash to spend on decent amenities. I sometimes wonder when we lost our link with industry the way we did with the land.

A few mates of mine grew up on this street and my brother lives on the one that runs parallel with it. So far we're all fine.
