Last day of summer

A quiet day after yesterday’s long walk. I went down to the estuary late afternoon but I knew there wouldn’t be many birds around because low tide was only two hours’ earlier. This little egret was the only visitor besides the pair of resident swans. A lovely day to round off the last day of summer today.
