Theatre Royal Glasgow

Work has started on an ambitious £11.5 million project which aims to create a world-class venue and transform the experience for audiences at one of the most beautiful and historic theatres in Scotland. It dates back to 1867.

The project will create a new entrance, spacious foyer and roof garden.

Construction will take about 18 months but the theatre will close only for a three-month period in early 2014.

Funding has come from the Scottish Government, Glasgow City Council and an array of Scottish and UK trusts and foundations including the Heritage Lottery Fund, as well as support from individual donors.
