Lake Superior

We drove up to Marquette and had a delicious hamburger lunch and coffee across from the harbor where the freighters unload.  A bright but nippy day.  We drove along the coast, into the national forest (didn't get lost), and then further north.  Beautiful landscape features everywhere.  It's the hilliest town I've ever been in.  I can't imagine being a college student and walking those frigid steep streets in the winter time, let alone living there full-time.  Marquette is one of the coldest and snowiest places in the US.  Lake Superior is the largest of the Great Lakes, and I believe it's also the deepest and coldest.
