Bar-tailed Godwit

Also known as the eastern bar-tailed godwit, the maori name being Kuaka. A youngster wintering at the river mouth, as the main pack have long returned to the Arctic to breed. The bar-tailed godwit is protected and native to New Zealand.

Just time for a quick walk at the river mouth after the gym and before heading home to a few house jobs. Daughter A flies in late tonight and will be home for a week, so looking forward to seeing her.  An early blip for me today, have some furniture to move, washing to get in and tea to prepare - Roasted vegetable bake with herbed chicken, sounds nice. It's been a warm 23C, light breeze and sunny.

Happy Tuesday all :)
