Life in a Northern Town

Harold in't snow

Arguably Huddersfield's most famous son, Harold Wilson, definitely the most famous alumni of my daughter's school. I think he would shrug off the heavy snow showers we have been having all day, (he famously said "I'm an optimist - but I'm an optimist who takes his raincoat"), light up his pipe and just get on with it.

He stands in front of the Station, a Grade 1 listed building, on a square paved very controversially of Chinese granite.

I very nearly Blipped a photo of my Merrie England lunch instead - perhaps I should at least work my way through the town's landmarks, before I resort to sandwiches!
