Bridge at Night

This is view from the South Portland Street Suspension Bridge looking towards Carlton Place.

Designed by Alexander Kirkland and built by the engineer George Martin, the bridge was started in 1851 and completed in 1853. The masonry towers seen here remain as originally built, and are therefore the oldest surviving elements of any of Glasgow's Clyde bridges.
