Storage

Last Monday, when making the soup, our fifteen year old mixer made it very clear that it had no intention of doing much more liquidising or mixing or processing.  It’s been complaining for a long time, so we finally decided to bite the bullet and find a younger model.

Our attachments appeared to be compatible with the later models, so we didn’t buy a blender or processor at the time.  Well the blender is a direct fit, but the processor needs an adaptor, and as the plastic was already chipping and splitting we decided to replace it.

Delivery was Monday 11th so it turned up this morning.  Completely new design, bigger cutting discs, and six of them instead of the three with the original.  The original had two double sided discs, and one for chips.  The new has six discs, one each for both sides of the original two, plus the chipper, plus an extra “fine shredder” disc.

This immediately raised storage problems.  The original box it too small, and could I find anything suitable on the web? - well possibly yes, custom made by Kenwood and costing £35, half the price of the processor.  I wouldn’t say that I’m mean BUT!  So they can live in that basket and we’ll just have to hope that we don’t get to much blood in the cupboard . . .

Another Saturday to be silly in.

Ps - I was going to have a rant about our silly government sending out silly letters telling those on immunosuppressant drugs to do what those like Mrs W have been doing for the past eleven years!  They have totally abandoned the extremely vulnerable, brushing off the fact that the vaccine does not work for them and ignoring the glaring fact that you are, at a very rough estimate, twice as likely to pick up COVID now than this time last year.  So you have been spared that, anyway . . .
