Looking for the beauty

Cardiff

We woke up to a beautiful, warm and sunny morning. After breakfast, we headed out to find some 'Boris bikes' to hire. There are loads of stands around Cardiff Bay but for some reason, hardly any bikes. By the Norwegian Church (where Roald Dahl was christened) we found a couple and after a bit of a faff downloading the app, we managed to hire them out. First we cycled to Penarth and around the marina there. We came back into the Bay, stopping by the barrage to take some photos and then headed into Cardiff on the cycle route to try and find the Millennium Stadium and the castle. It was a lovely cycle, mostly off road, and we soon arrived by the side of the stadium and then over to the castle. We paid and visited the castle and the beautiful Victorian mansion in the castle walls. We left the bikes outside on 'pause ride' and expected them still to be there when we'd finished but for some reason they went back on hire and were taken by other people. We headed into Cardiff, had a posh cup of tea and a pancake stack, did some shopping and then headed back to the Bay after finding 2 more bikes to hire. We cycled 17 miles in total and thoroughly enjoyed our day.
