Victory Monument

From yesterday afternoon when C's brother Bobby took us to lunch and a bit of a tour through Yorktown's historic sites and monuments. This towering obelisk (made from Maine granite) commemorates the treaty between France and the thirteen colonies which, in all likelihood, made all the difference in the outcome at the battle of Yorktown.

My nephew and niece left this morning for the drive to Pittsburg, his surgery will be tomorrow.

My sister-in-law took the pic I've included as the extra. Connie, me, and our great-nieces who are happy to "entertain" us for the week. They actually were able to get me to smile.
