The Slag Heap

The white stone is a slag heap, which built up the low lying coast, from Carnforth Iron Works. I remember lots of landfill being tipped here as a child, but it all looks quite natural now. Lovely to see Dow Crag and friends over the bay. The rest of my family from Switzerland arrived by car safe and sound after a long overnight journey, about 18 hours.
