Helen Frankenthaler

I stayed with Jo last night in Clapham and woke early this this morning to a message that Dad had been taken to hospital last night with a high temperature, low oxygen saturation and suspected COVID.

Gulp.

Happily after a thorough going-over in the small hours it turned out to be *only* a (serious) chest infection and he's now home, on antibiotics and strict instructions to rest.

Jo and I then relaxed and went to Dulwich Picture Gallery to see an exhibition of woodcuts by a leading abstract expressionist, Helen Frankenthaler.  Taking in a bit of 'culcha'  is always good, though in this case the abstract aspect was extreme and though pleasing - we decided it was quite a lot like random swarths of paint on a bit of MDF you'd find in a skip.

One thing that's made me smile today were photos of the fancy dress costumes (party last night) that Ben and Sophia went to, as an 'Iconic Couple'.  They changed their minds about the original idea, but I lurrrrve it.  Photo with the original subject in extra...
