Open!

Just over two and a half months after work began, our refurbished tearoom was opened today along with our new Bikes & Buggies community business. A good crowd turned out in the freezing cold to hear the short speeches and taste what was offer in the tearoom.

Mrs B was one of three ladies who worked their socks off all day preparing and serving food and drinks. Having been up at half five this morning to get on with her baking and not finishing until late afternoon, I think Mrs B is having second thoughts about running a tearoom! Fortunately, we have a new tenant taking over later in April, which means she and the other volunteers know that their efforts are only requires for a few more short weeks.

As with all openings, there were a few speeches and formalities including the ribbon cutting to the new Bikes & Buggies community business. Despite having briefed those involved, the ribbon was cut before I had even focussed on those involved. So instead its simply a blip of the assembled crowd with the refurbished tearoom on the left and some of the bikes and buggies on the right.

Time to put the feet up now!!
