Scoots, Shoots & Leaves

By TerriG

They just keep rollin' along

We did another hike/scoot on the Centennial Trail today, at the opposite end of yesterday's hike/scoot. There were a lot more people today, it being Saturday and the weather about as perfect as one could ask for. This couple was delightful -- laughter and shouts of "No fair!" resounded as they rolled past me taking their photo.

There was a variety of transportation modes on the trail, including a recumbent cycle, runners, strollers (the walking sort and the baby sort), and lots of ordinary cyclists. We saw remnants of horses too. The trail runs along and crosses Pilchuck Creek .

After our adventure, we returned to Richard and Pam's to pack up and head south for our next visit. We bid a fond farewell to them and to the guest cottage (the Bed and Shed), where we'd enjoyed days and nights of peace and quiet. It's a beautiful piece of land, and we love visiting there.

Tonight we're in Olympia visiting Dad's widow, Jackie, and tomorrow (much to Liza's relief, who's a little stressed by all the travel and change of scene and CATS) we'll be heading home. I'm ready for my own bed!

Many apologies for not commenting or responding much this week - I've barely had time to post, but hope to catch up in the next few days.
