Starling at Cullercoats Blipmeet

We had a really lovely morning - a hastily arranged mini blipmeet with 60plus & Roy who I'd realised yesterday were "oop north" for a few days. Coffee and cakes (essential, of course, to any blipmeet) were had at Beaches and Cream cafe in Cullercoats - it's just as well we're all hardy(ish) northerners as the breeze was a tad chilly and we had to sit outside as it was busy. There were lots of starlings circling and occasionally landing to snap up any crumbs: this one was very cheeky and stood on a chair at the next table for long enough for me to grab this shot, showing off its iridescent feathers nicely.

(I did take a delayed-action shot of the four of us at the table but to be honest it wasn't all that flattering with our hair blowing all over the place in the wind and my Editor would only have accepted me blipping it under duress, so I won't inflict it on any fellow blippers!)

After our snack we walked to Tynemouth with Chris & Roy, along the Long Sands where the light was rather nice with the sunshine and clouds - see the extra. Once we reached the Metro station we said our goodbyes and took the train home. A very enjoyable way to spend a morning.
