Only in the port of Lyttelton would you see at the same time; a spider on a letterbox, an artistic portion of a woman on a fence, and the top of a fishing boat in dry dock.

It made me smile. :-)

My layers of grief desperately needed a trip to the mountains or whatever else the weather would allow. I woke to rain and knew that no one else would likely show for plan B.

I chose to go from Christchurch to Lyttelton via the Bridal Path anyway, and I'm glad I did. To describe the weather as improving over the 3 hours I was out is generous. My soul is definitely in a better space.

Today's gratitude: For the 33mm of rain in my gauge.
