Blowy Day

It being a lovely morning we decided to head out for a shufty along the Fife coast. Charlestown Harbour here - no mooring fees; a place where boats are left to die. So many sad little craft moored all round the walls of what was once a terrific harbour. Here’s the historic Forth pilot “Largo Law” - a local guy told us the previous owner “had plans” to do it up. Like all the other washed up plans around the place. Quite poignant some of it.
But by Lordy, it was getting blowy. And the forecast for later was not at all good. F&H, one their way north, were stopped down at Derby with news that all east coast trains were going to stop running at 5pm.
Back home and we managed out to the RSA for a preview of the Christmas Exhibition - and who did we bump into but my old chum Phil Braham, now a member of the RSA, well (elect).
As darkness fell the wind was getting extremely blowy from the North; a couple of boats started dragging their moorings, including Tam’s trimaran which landed on the beach around 10:30pm. Luckily they didn’t go onto the breakwater. Not much you can do but watch.
