The hills of home - Pentland Hills, Edinburgh

Heading home after our trip to Harrogate, we zig-zagged across the country as OH wanted to take the kids over the Yorkshire moors and point out the Ribble Viaduct to our son.

DD and I tried to keep quiet about this, and restricted ourselves to raising our eyes skywards and letting boys be boys.

We arrived (somewhat unexpectedly to me) in Hawes this afternoon, and tried to go to visit a friend, but a combination of lack of 3G/Wi-Fi signal and the inability of the staff at the tourist information counter to look up a website using a web address led to us being unable to find our destination and having to proceed homewards without meeting the friend. It will give us a tale to tell her though.

This pic is of the Pentlands, snapped as we zoomed past at speed. It was good to see that we were almost home as the journey had taken rather too long for 3/4 of the occupants of our car.
