“Solar Discs”

I attended a guided tour of some of the Art Sculptures in the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. It was very enlightening. I have often seen these sculptures around the garden and wanted more information than what was on the small plaques near by. We had warm but cloudy weather so it was a pleasant walk.
This one was perhaps the most striking of the sculptures, called “Solar Disc”. It was designed by a local artist called Charles Williams.
It changes constantly depending on the light. Close up you can see lots of marks on the surface of the discs and they are concave, so the light reflects off of them in many ways.
The positioning of the two discs give it a sense of motion.
I liked this view because it shows it in its full setting.
We are so blessed to live close to these beautiful gardens!
