Paschal Beef

Easter Day again. Incredible.

We celebrated with that great blipper, Bundle, whom we invited to lunch.

I'm not sure if Paschal Beef is an acceptable notion... In principle, Paschal Lamb is the lamb sacrificed at the first Passover. Whatever the theological arguments, this was a delicious piece of beef, cooked to perfection by Mrs Scharwenka (Mrs S), and accompanied by "robust" red wine.

As has become traditional here, Mrs S set the table in a festive way for Easter. We often have bright flowers and decorative eggs hanging from twigs from the garden.

It certainly was not very warm outside, but tolerably bright, and the atmosphere indoors with our friend Bundle, was definitely very warm. We were listening to Bach's St Mark Pasion that I had recorded on Good Friday, and all seemed well with the world.
