It was colder inside than out. Perishingly cold.
The stairwell with its foot-worn stone steps can't fail but to bring to mind the people whose working lives were in this space.
We made a special trip to the upper floors where the plaster hasn't been touched up.
Reality hit. The exhibition we're hosting here is in a matter of weeks; I need to get a wiggle on!
