From the mountains to the sea

Day 2 - the kids went off mountain biking and those of us who didn't fancy that did the Precipice Walk which offers a fantastic view of Cadir Idris, off bounds because of the snow and ice. From the view point we could see how the glaciers had carved out the valley and had a glimpse of the sea 10 miles away. Inspired by that we drove the road at the bottom of the valley and emerged at Barford where we sat sheltered in sand dunes enjoying the sun and the view of the snowy mountains.

Only later did we get the call to say that two of the girls were in casualty having various cuts glued together. We bought them rock to cheer them up and the showed off their battle wounds over dinner, poor Millie had scraped the bottom of her chin and had to wear a huge and rather unflattering dressing on it.

Dinner round the campfire and the kids serenaded us before cramming all 17 of them into one bunk room... even when we sent them off to their various bunkrooms, there was much chatting and laughter...I don't think any of them got much sleep.
